Coral Lancaster – was born in Perth, Australia. She studied cello there with Gregory Baron and Suzanne Wijsman at the WA Academy of Performing Arts and the University of Western Australia, graduating with a Master of Music degree. She also spent a year at the Canberra School of Music studying cello with Australian cellist David Pereira. – In 1997, Coral moved to the UK, where she had lessons with David Waterman and participated in master class courses, including the International Musicians’ Seminar at Prussia Cove. Coral undertook trials with several UK orchestras, such as the BBC Symphony Orchestra, the BBC Philharmonic, and the BBC Concert Orchestra, before taking up a position in the Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra for six years. – Currently based in Oxford, Coral maintains a varied and busy freelance career, playing and teaching cello.
