Bringing to Life the Popular Music of Earlier Times
Milady Clare’s Musicke
We are a four-piece early music and traditional folk group, specialising in the popular music of centuries past: our repertoire includes songs, madrigals, carols and dances from the 11th to the 18th Centuries.
We play a collection of beautifully reconstructed early instruments, from the biblical plucked psaltery to the late 18th Century melodeon, including cittern, crumhorn, cornamuse, dulcimer, hurdy-gurdy, kortholt, fife and recorders
We perform in both period and modern concert outfits, and we bring our lively brand of early/folk music to castles, cathedrals, stately homes, university seminars, U3A and historical society meetings, village halls and WIs.
Also, we perform for Christmas events, weddings and celebrations!
Free Entry, retiring collection in aid of the Soundwell Music Therapy Trust, a charity chosen by the musicians.
